it all starts out when ed and al s mother dies with a highly unlikely idea from ed they go around learning more and more alchemy when ed and al feel they are ready they use an illegal and highly dangerous thing called transmutation alchemy to try and recreate their mother they don t know that this is highly dangerous and illegalized for a reason al ends up losing his body ed binding al s soul to a suit of armor from the corner of the room ed lost an arm and leg al brings ed to a friend s house in hopes to restore his older brother with a little bit of pleading they get their best friend s guardian to attatch a metal arm and leg to him that will move to his will four years later we find our heroe joining up with a hated military force in order to correct the problem and regain a body for al and an arm and lef for ed this force is made up of highly trained state alchemists
